I recently ran into an old
friend who I hadn’t seen for two years. She looked tired and intense, and was
talking at a high pitch. She is a headhunter, and had just finished
interviewing a high-profile candidate but failed to impress him.
Then she started to complain
about her health problems. One year ago, she began to notice a ringing in her
ears. She went to the hospital and was told she was suffering from chronic
tinnitus that may have resulted from stress. The doctor prescribed her pills
for her nerves.
At nighttime, she has to
listen to soundtracks of flowing streams to quiet the noise in her head and
fall asleep. Her life has become a two-point routine of work and home. Even
while she was vacationing in Thailand, she found herself searching for the
right candidate.
That situation above means you
need to do some exercise improving her health, walk out of the door, dressing
your running shirt
or yoga tight, then
join in the training, enjoy the sports happily.
She suffers from the same
workaholic depression as another friend who works for an advertising firm. This
friend has to work overtime almost every day. If she’s lucky, she can leave at
9 pm; otherwise it’s midnight. For her, working on weekends has become normal.
Each time I see her, she seems down.
My two friends share
something in common: They don’t want to escape their misery, believing that if
you don’t work hard when you are young, you will regret it. That may be true,
but there are limits. If every day you wake up looking like you’re suffering
from long-term constipation; if you hate your office; if you’re the victim of
constant criticism and office politics are eating up all your energy - then it
may be time to move on. www.dopoosportswear.com
As important as finding a
job that you really like, is finding a company with a healthy vibe. The right
company should lift your spirits and have a team working toward a common goal.
As for the employees, they
should work hard and play hard. Remember - all work and no play makes Jack a
dull boy. If you can enjoy life, you will have more passion to bring to your
work.(Take your kids with their baskeball wear to enjoy together)
For instance, I like to
travel and go out to eat at fancy restaurants to reward myself for completing a
project. That’s my way of trying to understanding life. You can also indulge in
creative hobbies like painting, dancing or photography. In short, be a healthy
and high-spirited workaholic: Learn to find balance between work and living.
